For musicians, the details matter. 👀 Walnut, c For musicians, the details matter. 👀

Walnut, curly maple, and black leather come together in this music stand and bench made by Bob Gasperetti. The stand adjusts to the right height and angle, and the bench is built wide enough for a vocalist and accompanist to share.
A piece made for the moments when music takes center stage 🎶

October is National Arts and Humanities Month and October is National Arts and Humanities Month and we’re proud to celebrate the artistry of Vermont’s furniture makers.

Every piece we create is more than furniture. It’s a reflection of design, tradition, and craftsmanship passed down through generations. Just like paintings, sculpture, or music, our work tells a story and brings beauty into everyday life.

Honoring artistry in every joint, curve, and grain 🪵✨

Charles Shackleton grew up in Dublin, Ireland, sur Charles Shackleton grew up in Dublin, Ireland, surrounded by Georgian homes, country cottages, and a love of the natural world passed down from his father 🌿 Those roots still shape the furniture he makes today in Vermont, pieces that are simple, graceful, and meant to be lived with.

Over the years he has been recognized as Vermont Woodworker of the Year, helped found the Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers, and launched The Naked Table Project, bringing people together around handmade tables. His work has traveled far, but it always circles back to something familiar, the warmth of wood and the spirit of home ✨

Guild member Timothy Clark has always loved little Guild member Timothy Clark has always loved little wooden kitchen chairs. Inspired by an antique design, he set out to create one of his own: “What makes these chairs great is their simplicity and compact size. The challenge also, is their simplicity and compact size.”

From CAD sketches and CNC patterns to hours of shaping by hand with spokeshaves and planes, the journey wasn’t easy: “New chair designs… can be a real challenge to ‘get right.’ After a few starts and stops, I am finally there with this one.”

The result? A compact, timeless Windsor-style chair that feels at home around a cozy kitchen table.

Would you pull up a seat in this one? 🪑
