Find Guild master furniture maker Jim Becker’s custom huntboard at the Brattleboro Museum’s exhibit “Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers: Evolving Traditions.”
In the works for more than sixteen years, Jim Becker’s first huntboard sold as soon as he sent a photo to the customer he was working with as he began the piece.
In the final piece, he used self-closing drawer glides, an nontraditional aspect of the construction. Adding the ebonized (blackened) walnut stripe to make it truly unique, this piece is representative of his notable Ming Shaker Line of furniture.
