This wine cabinet was a custom piece, and was made of cherry wood from Pennsylvania, considered the best for its dark, rich color. The top is curly (figured) cherry. I carved the front panel with a combination of hand and power tools, with many, many hours of hand work to achieve the refined sculptural form. To avoid interrupting the waves, on the front, I carved a small notch on the edge of the door just below the top to serve as the pull. The small drawer in the interior is for coasters, corkscrews, etc. The finish is a hand rubbed Danish oil, with a waterproof final coat on the top.

This piece is made to order. The size, and layout of the shelves, drawer and compartments can be customized. For example, it could have all drawers or shelves instead of wine storage. It can be ordered in FSC certified cherry, and it can also be custom ordered in walnut, or other woods.
