On Monday, August 15, 2016, the Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers return to the Vermont State House in Montpelier! We will be featured in a two-month long show, titled “Current Work,” that runs through October 21. The show will include furniture selections from more than 20 of our furniture makers and will feature a variety of furniture types and styles, from period reproduction to contemporary. It will be a celebration of American craft heritage, showcasing both traditional building techniques and innovation in action.
The exhibit will be on the second floor in the “Card Room” adjacent to the House Chamber where you can see the work any time that the State House is open from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Celebrate the show with us: Join us on September 2 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. during the Montpelier Art Walk and will include a reception with refreshments.
We welcome you to experience how it all comes together; the maker, the material, the vision and tradition. If you have questions regarding any of the work you see on exhibit, our makers would love to hear from you! You can visit our website to contact any of our members and see more of our work.
