Writing Desk and Chair

This desk started with an amazing piece of curly red birch, which became the top. When I was designing this desk I started thinking octagons. They’re everywhere. Even the included pencil cup. The rest of the desk is curly red birch with bird’s-eye maple as a secondary wood.  This set makes a striking statement in any room. The cubby unit on top is a separate piece.
