New Jeffersonian Desk Windsor

Timothy Clark Cabinetmaker Chairwright
of Waltham, VT

This Windsor is a custom chair inspired by the interesting design work of Thomas Jefferson. Among other things, he made the first swiveling windsor chair that also had an attached desk. He was a great engineer.  This chair has a round table, reminiscent of an 18th Century candle stand, that swivels out of the way to let the sitter come and go.  I made a custom mold and formed a silicon removable pad for the table surface so that a plate or laptop would not slide around.  It makes the surface feel very secure.  It also can be used as a frisbee to wake up a dosing family member.
