This high work stool is a very hearty piece of furniture. It is built with the same sturdy joinery as my chairs and features a hand shaped seat legs and strethers. I use these in my shop for work stools and they are great in the kitchen for that extra person who isn’t helping with the cooking. Sit on it with the wide side facing front or turn it sideways and straddle it. The 26″ height is designed to work with a 36″ or so counter or work surface.
