Making a Walnut Dining Table

Joe Breznick started out building houses, then dialed in to kitchens, custom cabinets and finally, furniture. For over twenty years now, he’s been handcrafting meticulous, heirloom-quality dining tables, chairs, cases, and more in his Londonderry, Vermont workshop. This short film from Pioneer Studios takes us on a journey with Joe; from start to finish through the making process.

If you ask Joe whether he has a favorite piece to make, he’ll tell you it’s always the first. “I love the creative process of building a first piece” whether for a client commission or the start of a production run. “It’s challenging and exciting.” And gratifying too! “There’s never a better feeling than a client’s outright excitement when they see their finished item.” We interviewed the craftsman last year on the blog so you can learn more about his work and philosophy there. Or, you can browse through his maker portfolio on the site.
