A visit to a workshop or studio is an exciting way to begin a project dialogue and a great way to get to know our craftsmen. For those of you who’ve discovered us on-line, we capture a bit of this studio experience on our blog with photos, stories and works in progress.
Each of the maker portraits collected here brings you (virtually) to a workshop, and includes comments and anecdotes shared in person. We’re looking forward to visiting and writing about other member studios in the coming months.

The Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers is an association of thirty master craftsmen (and women) working in studios across Vermont. Most of our members have been designing and making custom furniture for decades, so there’s no shortage of stories or project pieces to share. As we mentioned above, our blog is devoted to telling and sharing these stories, so we invite you to stay in touch with us there. Or, connect via social. We’re creating fresh content for our friends on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Come by and say hello!
I think I need a retake of my photo. Next time I’ll wear something colorful and repaint my shop door so you don’t have to go all black and white on me 🙂 .
I actually love that shot! So much seems right about it, being Signal Pine and all.
