Whisper Cabinet

This piece began with the door panels. About to put a log in the woodstove I noticed the spaulting on the endgrain and brought it down to the bandsaw and opened it up. Wow! I made the door which sat in my shop for a number of months before I concieved the cabinet. The form became an exploration of “negative space” What is not there is as important as what is. Hard maple, spaulted maple, walnut.
