The shelves rest on brass pins, adjustable over 1 1/4″ increments. Decorative cleats add a subtle handsome touch to the overall design. Shop-made brass pulls dress the divided light doors. A lock has been installed to each door for added security. The curved aprons and tapered outer posts pay homage to Charles Limbert, a Mission craftsman/designer who was known for adding unique subtleties to his work.
The Bookcase is made of Quarter-sawn White Oak. It comes apart into two main pieces for ease of transportation. It is finished with a four stage process involving analyne dye, sealer, glaze and a Waterlox top coat.
