The cutout on the top of these chairs acts as a handle for moving them around when in use and when nested.
The design of this chair is a clever one. The seat comes out of its position and nests into the main section, with no special hardware. The fasteners used to hold the chair together are all stainless steel.
The Crescent Chair is made of African Mahogany. The design came to me from a friend who wanted a set of these based on an old chair his father had bought in the 70’s. I’ve updated it slightly with a few minor detail changes.
The wood is left unfinished and will turn silver with age if left outdoors in the sun. It can also be finished, but would require a reapplication of oil every year to stay reddish brown.
