Viewing: Console Table
This console table features a curly cherry top, ash legs and drawer fronts, cherry dovetailed drawers, and stone drawer pulls. Each leg was shaped by hand with a spokeshave. The drawers are mounted on side-hung, waxed maple drawer slides, in the Danish tradition. Each drawer has a small wood stop at the back, to prevent it from being accidentally pulled entirely out of the table.
The top has a hand rubbed Danish oil finish, to bring out the color, warmth and depth of the figured cherry. The legs and drawer fronts have a hand rubbed poly-varnish finish, to keep the ash as light in tone as possible. The drawer interiors are finished with white shellac.
